Traditional lemon rice

This is how we make lemon rice at home when we want something quick, comforting, and full of flavor without too much effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 green chili (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add green chili and sauté briefly.
  4. Mix in cooked rice and salt.
  5. Turn off heat and mix in fresh lemon juice.

Tips & Variations

  • If the rice feels sticky, spread it out before mixing.
  • You can add roasted peanuts for extra crunch.
  • Leftovers store well for one day in the fridge.
